Nove Nove Maui Aloha Classic is on August 31, 2016 nickensmaui.com Elite Pacific PropertiesToday starts the Nova Nova Maui Aloha Classic windsurfing at Hookipa Maui. Hookipa windsurfing event will feature the best windsurfers in the world fighting for top honors for the title of Maui Aloha Classic Champion. Conditions are looking awesome with strong tradeswinds, and huge surf on the forcast. Last years event was very exciting, and we won't be disappointed this year. There are 130 windsurfers registered for the event. In the men's pro event will have AWT leaders Boojmaa Guilloul and Maui's Morgan Noireaux battling for top honors. Women's pro division Ingrid Larouche and Sarah Hauser will be battling for the title. But local girl Vicky Abbott could upset the apple cart. This is looking like a really exciting event with other big names like Marcilio Brown and Levi Siver couple of my favorite Goya Team riders. Other stand outs Bernd Roediger, Kai Lenny, Graham Ezzy and Maui ripper Conner Baxter. The windsurfing event will be running all week, and conditions are looking very promising. Summer Vacation Rental on Maui Well we are off and running with the summer season on Maui. It’s been beautiful weather, with steady trade winds blowing. We just had some guest leave that were from Switzerland. I love it when people are so stoked to be on Maui. I can rediscover through their travels discovering Maui. Sandra our new Swiss friend loved their stay on our vacation rental, Pineapple Cottage in Haiku. It’s always exciting to see people appreciate all the hard work we put into our property over the years. I forget that tropical flowers are unusual with a variety of flowers exploding with color. She also discovered papayas and bananas throughout the property. Maui is such a special place, no wonder it is ranked #1 island destination by Trip Advisor and other travel Magazines. Maui is such a fun place to explore. Maybe a trip to Hana for the day, or a trip up to Ulupalakua Ranch for some wine tasting. Sandra sister spent one-day surfing at Hookipa Beach Park just down the road from us. With all our guest they are loving their stay at Pineapple Cottage. We put a lot of hard work and tried to make it a home away from home for our guest. On Sandra’s last day with her family I said my good-byes and headed out to Hookipa for a surf. I looked up and saw them all on the cliff waving at me and yelling Steve. I am so happy to meet so many happy travelers. They become friends and I hope to see them return again one day. So if you’re looking for a vacation rental on Maui. Pineapple Cottage is a unique island experience. Located on 2.5 acres of lush, and tropical setting. Stream that flows at the bottom of the gulch, singing birds in the morning, you might want to check out our vacation rental in Haiku. Windsurfing Spring Season On Maui Begins with Strong Winds Windsurfing and Kiting are two of Maui’s Northshore wind sports that are driven by the trade winds in Hawaii. After a rather light winter of winds, it seems that we are looking at some excellent conditions. I keep hearing that we are looking at a La Nina weather pattern this spring and summer. That means it should bring strong winds for windsurfing and kite surfing on Maui. Sunday was a great day for windsurfing at Kanaha Maui. The windsurfing report didn’t show any sign of winds. I live in Haiku, just past Hookipa Beach Park. I was working on my vacation rental with my wife and I noticed that the winds were getting to be pretty steady. So without hesitation, I loaded up my windsurfing gear and headed to Kanaha. To my surprise, the wind filled in and it was sunny, with steady winds. On any given Sunday there is a pretty good crowd if the conditions show the slightest bit of wind. There were just a few of the locals full of smiles, having ignored the wind reports online. Margie, a long time windsurfer at Kanaha, usually does a morning post on Facebook posted positive report on the conditions, but still people missed it! We were all pretty happy! I rigged a 5-0 and headed out to enjoy the day. Needless to say, everyone was really stoked with the conditions, steady winds, 20 to 25 mph. I heard hoots from Margie and she was flying by me. Today we had a little different conditions. Winds were blowing 25 to 35 mph. As I walked up to check the conditions, people windsurfing were getting out of the water because of the strong winds. There are some fearless windsurfing veterans that have been sailing Maui for over 30 years. I was watching as some of the veteran ladies, like Margie & Franny headed out to tackle the strong conditions. I thought if these ladies are going out, I might as well join them. Okay, from the moment I set foot in the water it was go. Powered up and flying across the water, it was exhilarating. Okay, I got slammed a couple times and thought, “Well, that was fun, but I better call it a day!” I have only been sailing for 5 years, though I’ve been surfing for 45 years. It’s been a great diversion.ion There’s a saying: “Lucky we live Maui”. Tomorrow I will be spending the day in the office (I sell real estate), then back to Kanaha for maybe another windsurf session. Many visitors come to Maui to windsurf and kiteboard at Maui’s famous destinations like Hookup Beach Park and Sprecklesville, Maui. If you’re looking for vacation rental accommodations on Maui’s Northshore, you might consider Pineapple Cottage, our sweet little 2 bedroom vacation rental. We are located just ten minutes past Hookipa Beach Park, the first turn off to Haiku (Haiku Road) as you come out of Maliko Gulch. It’s a cottage on a 2 acres, very private and well appointed. Keep us in mind for your next Maui windsurf vacation, happy sailing! Spring Time on Maui’s Northshore As winter comes to an end on Maui, you start to notice that spring is approaching. One of the early signs is the shower trees are starting to blossom all over the island. I love the pink shower trees with their vibrant colors. One thing that I do every spring is drive up to Kula Maui to take pictures of the Jacaranda trees flowering, they are just stunning. Starting at the King K high school, all the way out to Ulupalakua Ranch you will be amazed at the sight of these beautiful trees. Just last year I planted a Jacaranda tree in my yard I love them so much. I do have Hong Kong Orchids trees, and a couple shower tress, love the display of blossoms going off. Another sign of spring is the trade winds returning after a poor showing this winter. Windsurfers and kite boarders love spring on Maui. There are still waves and wind on the Northshore of Maui. You also have all the windsurf companies showing up to take photos of all the new product lines for water sports. We just had the DaKine marketing team staying at our Pineapple Cottage vacation rental in Haiku. They brought in a team to work with local watermen and women to display their products on-line and to feature in magazines. For me it’s a shift from surfing all winter, to getting my windsurf gear out and enjoying the water when I am not selling real estate on Maui. Spring is also a changing of the guard, where the winter snowbirds return to their summer homes, and people trade in their ski equipment for kiteboards and windsurfing gear. It’s like the Geese returning to their summer grounds. So if you’re looking at visiting Maui, you might keep Pineapple Cottage vacation rental in Haiku Maui as a tropical getaway for Spring time. The Northshore of Maui is a very cool place, with lots of interesting things to do. Paia Maui is such an international destination with people from all over the world. Upcountry Maui has Makawao town with cool boutiques stores and great eateries. So this spring looking for Maui vacation rentals on Maui’s Northshore, consider Pineapple Cottage vacation rental in Haiku Maui. Aloha, Steve & Ivy
Windsurfing on Maui’s Northshore in Spring.Well spring time has arrived on the Northshore of Maui. This time of year windsurfers from around the world come to Maui, to test out their new windsurfing gear at places like Spreckelville, and Hookipa Maui. Currently we have the DaKine marketing team staying at our vacation rental, Pineapple Cottage vacation rental in Haiku Maui. Along with the windsurfer arriving on Maui, there are photographers and marketing teams that are here to shoot some of the top windsurfers in the world for magazine ads and marketing material. Spreckelsville Maui is a popular out of the way beach to windsurf and capture some amazing footage. Spring time on Maui is also changing of the season, the snowbirds are trading in their skis and snowboards for sailboard and kite boards. The trade winds are starting to pick up, hopefully we will have a lots of sailing time this spring heading into summer. Kite boarding on Maui has become really popular. I been windsurfing for five years on Maui, and have been tempted to try kiteboarding. On the light wind days’ kite boarding really is the way to go. Kiting on Maui has become such a popular new sport. Kanaha Beach is really a great place to learn to Kite, and the waves are so playful. So if you’re thinking about coming to Maui to windsurf or kiteboarding? Keep in mind our vacation rental on Maui’s Northshore, the Pineapple Cottage in Haiku Maui. We just got our license from the county at the end of 2015. We have had visitors from Switzerland, England, Canada to Santa Barbara. One of our guest gave us a 5 Star rating. Also keep in Mind if you’re looking for Maui real estate, I been selling real estate on Maui for 21 years. Hopefully we will see you in the water. Aloha, Steven Nickens Pineapple Cottage Haiku Maui Vacation Rental Email: email@example.com Cell: 808-280-2208Spring time on Maui’s Northshore, brings the trade winds, and windsurfing on Maui Northshore. Winds have been pretty strong the last couple days. I was heading down to Kanaha from Haiku, to get an afternoon windsurfing session. But as I was driving by Hookup Beach Park the waves were big and the wind was crazy strong with just two guys out so I decided to work in my garden and wait for a cleaner day. The wind report is looking like we might have a good week of windsurfing. Kiters are also all fired up to finally get some good kiteboarding sessions. Spring time brings windsurfer and kiters to Maui. Maui is the most consistent place on the planet, usually the trade winds pick up around 10 or 11 o’clock. What’s amazing about Maui is how people come to Maui from all over the world. We still have plenty of good surf, trade winds filling in are a big bonus. Many windsurfers live part time on Maui, finishing up the winter season of skiing, trading in their mountain equipment for warm water and surf. If you’re looking at visiting Maui for some windsurf time, you might be looking for a place to stay for a while, and kick back and enjoy Northshore life. Our new Maui vacation rental on Maui’s Northshore has been a hit with Maui visitors. Pineapple Cottage is located on our property in Haiku Maui. A two-bedroom vacation rental in Haiku Maui. We put a lot of love into our cottage and it has been well received. You can reach us on vrbo, or call us direct 808-280-2208. We are a licensed vacation rental with the county of Maui.
We just had our last giant swell of the year as far as I am guessing. nickensmaui.com.The day of the Eddie big wave event on Oahu's northshore brought huge surf to the islands. Maui was not denied, and we had huge surf on the northshores. Jaws Maui, which is located on the northshore of Haiku, just down the way from Pineapple Cottage our B&B, experienced huge surf. I drove down with my son Micah to get a few pictures, I was not disappointed. The cliff was lined with people anxious to get view of the few brave watermen that were out charging the waves. Waves had some 50ft faces, and we experienced some great rides. So now we are slowly approaching spring. The tradewinds are slowly filling in with good wind for windsurfing on Maui. So for me it's a relief from the giant surf to be able to get out and surf at Hookipa. What's so cool about Maui, is that there is so much to do for beach lovers, surfers, kiters, windsufers, and standup paddlers. As conditions change, people change what kind of equipment they ride in the surf. Myself I am an old surfer, that took up windsurfing on Maui in the last five years. When I am not selling real estate with Island Sotheby's International Realty, or helping my wife getting our vacation rental in Haiku ready for our next guest. Okay and doing yard work, I am out surfing at Hookipa, or windsurfing at Kahana Maui. Today is one of those days I am running off for a windsurfing session. So if you're thinking about visiting Maui, and looking for a vacation rental on Maui'northshore. Pineapple Cottage has been a big hit with our guest. We are located in Haiku Maui, first turn off as you enter Haiku. We are located on a very private property, on 2.5 lush acres. Our guest response has been really positive, loving the privacy. Some of our guest have done the condo experience and are looking for more of a local vibe away from the resorts, which have their own merit. We are close to Old Paia Town, you have excellent restaurants, boutiques, Mana Foods, art galleries, gelato, yoga, surfing at Paia Bay and Hookipa Beach Park, world class windsurfing, kiting and stand paddling. So if you are looking for a different island experience, Pineapple Cottage vacation rental in Haiku Maui might just be your next island getaway. You can also find us on VRBO.COM and AIRB&B.
